Installation

Fosterway web app is for high school counsellors and college/university recruiters, please contact Fosterway by email: support@fosterway.com to verify identity and acquire an account.

 

User Type

Counsellor: A counsellor of a high school.

Recruiter: A recruiter of a college or university.

  

Usage

Event & Meetings:

Description:

Both counsellors and recruiters are able to access. Users can create, edit, and delete three types of events (Zoom Event, Other Event, News Event) that will be posted in the newsfeed page.

Prerequisites:

Users are required to login with fosterway and authorize with Zoom account.

Guidance:

  1. Click “Event & Meetings” on the top navigation bar.
  2. Use your Zoom account to authorize and authenticate.
  3. Click “Create Event” button on the top left corner to initiate event creation.
  4. Choose the Event type you would like to create - Zoom, Other, News
  5. Fill out the event template.
  6. Click “Create” button at the bottom.
  7. An event will be created.
  8. Click “Switch Zoom Account” button on the top right corner to deauthorize your logged in Zoom account.
  9. To launch your Zoom Meeting, click the "Start" button in the appropriate event line on the "Event & Meetings" page.
  10. The Zoom web application will open in a new tab and you can begin your Zoom Meeting.
  11. To Edit or Delete a Zoom Event that has been posted to a Newsfeed, the Event must first be removed from the Newsfeed page by clicking the arrow on the top right corner of the posting and clicking "Remove".
  12. Once the posting has been removed from the Newsfeed, the Event can then be edited or deleted from the "Event & Meetings" page by clicking "Edit" or "Delete"
  13. When you edit or delete your events, the related meetings will be edited or deleted as well.

  

Newsfeed:

Description:

Both counsellors and recruiters are able to access. Users can choose an event from the event dropdown list and post.

Prerequisites:

Users are required to login with Fosterway.

Guidance:

  1. Click “Feeds” on the top navigation bar.
  2. Choose event type in the drop down menu and then select an event in the adjacent drop down menu.
  3. Users can choose to upload images, documents, or emojis with post by clicking the icons on the posting page and selecting the appropriate images. documents, or emojis.
  4. Click “Post” button to post an event in the News Feed.
  5. To remove a posting, click the arrow on the top right corner of the posting and click "Remove"

 

Dashboard:

Description:

Both counsellors and recruiters are able to access. Users can view various of basic information and analytic diagrams and charts of their schools.

Prerequisites:

Users are required to login with Fosterway.

Guidance:

  1. Click “Dashboard” on the top navigation bar.
  2. View information.

 

Students:

Description:

Counsellors can view high school’s current students and alumni.  Recruiters can view students who have favourited the school. Users can filter students through multiple options in this page.

Prerequisites:

Users are required to login with Fosterway.

Guidance:

  1. Counsellors choose “Current” or “Alumni” from “Students” dropdown list on the top navigation bar. Recruiters click “Favourited Students” on the top navigation bar.
  2. View students list.
  3. Click “Filter” button to filter students by own choices.

  

Student Detail:

Description:

Both Counsellors and Recruiters can view student detail by clicking a student’s name on students list page. This page shows a variety of detail on a student, including basic information, favourite schools and programs, registered events, view habits, and analytics.

Prerequisites:

Users are required to login with Fosterway.

Guidance:

  1. Click a student’s name on students list page.
  2. View student’s information.

 

School Profile (Recruiters):

Description:

Recruiters can view their school’s database information that includes general school information, athletics, campus life and program details.

Prerequisites:

Users are required to login with Fosterway.

Guidance:

  1. Choose an option from “School Profile” dropdown list on the top navigation bar.
  2. View information.

 

Uninstallation:

 Users can deauthorize the app by clicking the “Switch Zoom Account” button on the “Meeting & Events” page or clicking “Log Out” on any page.
